You’ll not find another mentored animation school that combines our comparatively low course costs with such high quality student work.

Quite a few animation schools don’t display the student animation work on their website.  It’s always really important to see student examples before deciding on a course because this is the kind of work you will be producing should you take up a place.

The aim of our 6 month online animation school is for the student to design and complete at least one keyframed animated sequence. They cover all the techniques during the making of this first sequence. Some students like to start and even finish a second, it really depends on how much time you want to dedicate.

The course is structured in a way that is similar to how a shot would be developed within a VFX animation studio environment. All the exercises contribute towards the making of the sequence.

A student may not hand in an assignment for a month, but then work more intensely at other periods,  basically it really is up to you how frequently you submit work for crit.

So you can see, the course is specifically designed to have the flexibility that allows you to factor in a full-time job or college course and study at the online school at the same time.

animationateam.com’s Rob Hemmings, was asked by Skillset, the industry body which supports skills and training for the UK creative industries, to take a masterclass hosted by Ravensbourne Media College.

Rob addressed tutors and students from Skillset’s accredited animation courses and media academies,  explaining the process by which sophisticated animation for VFX is created and what might be done to provide specialist teaching and learning to help new talent answer the VFX industry’s call for skills in realism.

Rob: What was the most important thing learned on the course?
Deepak: The workflow.

Rob: What was the hardest thing to overcome?
Deepak: Is the eagerness to add details in the beginning itself, rather than thinking about the overall feel of the shot.

Rob: How has the course changed the way you worked previously?
Deepak: This course has changed lot of things in me. In short if I have to say I do not think about animation principles
anymore, rather I think about the feel which I have to bring into the shot.
